³³ So Joab went to the king and told him this. Then the king summoned Absalom, and he came in and bowed down with his face to the ground before the king. And the king kissed^(A) Absalom.

²⁰ So he got up and went to his father.

“But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him.^(A)

⁴ But Esau^(A) ran to meet Jacob and embraced him; he threw his arms around his neck and kissed him.^(B) And they wept.^(C)

¹⁵ And he kissed^(A) all his brothers and wept over them.^(B) Afterward his brothers talked with him.^(C)

²⁶ Then his father Isaac said to him, “Come here, my son, and kiss me.”
