⁹ The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise,^(A) as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient^(B) with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.^(C)

²² And he said, “The Son of Man^(A) must suffer many things^(B) and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests and the teachers of the law,^(C) and he must be killed^(D) and on the third day^(E) be raised to life.”^(F)

²³ Then he said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.^{(G) 24} For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it.^(H)
