30 Fremdeles skal du lave et Alter til at brænde Røgelse på: af Akacietræ skal du lave det, 2 en Alen langt og en Alen bredt, firkantet skal det være, og to Alen højt, og dets Horn skal være i eet med det. 3 Du skal overtrække det med purt Guld, både Pladen og Siderne hele Vejen rundt og Hornene, og sætte en Guldkrans rundt om; 4 og du skal sætte to Guldringe under Kransen på begge Sider, på begge Sidestykkerne skal du sætte dem til at stikke Bærestænger i, for at det kan bæres med dem; 5 og Bærestængerne skal du lave af Akacietræ og overtrække med Guld. 6 Derpå skal du opstille det foran Forhænget, der hænger foran Vidnesbyrdets Ark, foran Sonedækket oven over Vidnesbyrdet der, hvor jeg vil åbenbare mig for dig. 7 På det skal Aron brænde vellugtende Røgelse; hver Morgen, når han gør Lamperne i Stand, skal han antænde den. 8 Og når Aron sætter Lamperne på Lysestagen ved Aftenstid, skal han ligeledes antænde den; det skal være et stadigt Røgelseoffer for Herrens Åsyn fra Slægt til Slægt. 9 I må ikke ofre et lovstridigt Røgelseoffer derpå, ej heller Brændofre eller Afgrødeofre, lige så lidt som I må udgyde Drikofre derpå. 10 Men een Gang om Året skal Aron skaffe Soning på dels Horn; med noget af Forsoningssyndofferets Blod skal han een Gang om Året skaffe Soning på det, Slægt efter Slægt. Det er højhelligt for Herren.
11 Herren talede fremdeles til Moses og sagde: 12 Når du holder Mandtal over Israeliterne, skal enhver, som mønstres, ved Mønstringen give Herren Sonepenge for sit Liv, at ingen Ulykke skal ramme dem i Anledning af Mønstringen. 13 Enhver, der må underkaste sig Mønstringen, skal udrede en halv Sekel i hellig Mønt, tyve Gera på en Sekel, en halv Sekel som Offerydelse til Herren. 14 Enhver, der må underkaste sig Mønstringen, fra Tyveårsalderen og opefter, skal udrede Herrens Offerydelse. 15 hen rige må ikke give mere, den fattige ikke mindre end en halv Sekel, når de bringer Herrens Offerydelse til Soning for deres Sjæle. 16 Og du skal tage Sonepengene af Israeliterne og bruge dem til Tjenesten ved Åbenbaringsteltet. og de skal tjene til at bringe Israeliterne i Minde for Herrens Åsyn, til Soning for eders Sjæle.
17 Herren talede fremdeles til Moses og sagde: 18 Du skal lave en Vandkumme med Fodstykke af Kobber til at tvætte sig i op opstille den mellem Åbenbaringsteltet og Alteret og hælde Vand i den, 19 for at Aron og hans Sønner kan tvætte deres Hænder og Fødder deri. 20 Når de går ind i Åbenbaringsteltet, skal de tvætte sig med Vand for ikke at dø; ligeledes når de træder hen til Alteret for at gøre Tjeneste og brænde Ildofre for Herren. 21 De skal tvætte deres Hænder og Fødder for ikke at dø. Det skal være en evig Anordning for ham og hans Afkom fra Slægt til Slægt.
22 Herren talede fremdeles til Moses og sagde: 23 Du skal tage dig vellugtende Stoffer af den bedste Slags, 500 Sekel ædel Myrra, halvt så meget. 25O Sekel, vellugtende Kanelbark, 25O Sekel vellugtende Kalmus 24 og 500 Sekel Kassia, efter hellig Vægt, og en Hin Olivenolie. 25 Deraf skal du tilberede en hellig Salveolie, en krydret Blanding, som Salveblanderne laver den; en hellig Salveolie skal det være. 26 Med den skal du salve Åbenbaringsteltet, Vidnesbyrdets Ark, 27 Bordet med alt dets Tilbehør, Lysestagen med dens Tilbehør, Røgelsealteret, 28 Brændofferalteret med alt dets Tilbehør og Vandkummen med dens Fodstykke, 29 Således skal du hellige dem, så de bliver højhellige. Enhver, der kommer i Berøring med dem, bliver hellig" . 30 Ligeledes skal du salve Aron og hans Sønner og hellige dem til at gøre Præstetjeneste for mig. 31 Men til Israeliterne skal du sige således: Dette skal være mig en hellig Salveolie fra Slægt til Slægt. 32 Den må ikke udgydes på noget Menneskes Legeme, og i denne Blanding må I ikke tilberede lignende Salve til eget Brug, hellig er den, og hellig skal den være eder. 33 Den, der tilbereder lignende Salve eller anvender den på en Lægmand, skal udryddes af sin Slægt.
34 Herren talede fremdeles til Moses og sagde: Tag dig Røgelseoffer, Stakte, Onyksmusling, Galbanum og ren Virak, lige meget af hvert, 35 og tilbered deraf en krydret Røgelse, som Salveblanderne laver den, saltet, ren, til hellig Brug. 36 Deraf skal du støde en Del til Pulver, og noget deraf skal du lægge foran Vidnesbyrdet i Åbenbaringsteltet, hvor jeg vil åbenbare mig for dig. Det skal være eder højhelligt. 37 Den Røgelse, du tilbereder i denne Blanding, må I ikke tilberede til eget Brug. Hellig skal den være dig for Herren. 38 Den, der tilbereder lignende Røgelse for at nyde dens Duft, skal udryddes af sin Slægt.

Røgelsesalteret
30 Lav et alter af akacietræ til at brænde røgelse på. 2 Alteret skal have en kvadratisk grundflade, 45 cm langt, 45 cm bredt og 90 cm højt, med horn i hjørnerne, som er udskåret i ét stykke med hjørnestolperne. 3 Belæg alterets top, sider og horn med rent guld og sæt en pynteliste af guld hele vejen rundt. 4 Under listen skal du fastgøre to guldringe på hver af de to sider til at sætte bærestængerne igennem. 5 Stængerne skal laves af akacietræ og belægges med guld. 6 Placer alteret lige uden for forhænget, som hænger foran pagtens ark med forsoningsstedet, hvor jeg vil åbenbare mig for dig.
7 Hver morgen, når Aron kommer ind for at gøre lamperne i stand, skal han brænde vellugtende røgelse på alteret. 8 Og hver aften, når han gør lamperne i stand, skal han igen brænde røgelse for Herren. Dette ritual skal udføres fra slægt til slægt. 9 På det alter må I ikke ofre nogen anden form for røgelse, og heller ikke noget brændoffer, høstoffer eller drikoffer.
10 Én gang om året skal Aron foretage en rituel rensning af alteret ved at smøre blod fra forsoningsofferet på alterets horn. Det skal være en fast årlig begivenhed, også for kommende slægter, for det er Herrens højhellige alter.”
Løsepenge som en tempelskat
11 Endvidere sagde Herren til Moses: 12 „Når du holder folketælling over Israels folk, skal alle registrerede personer give en løsesum for deres liv. På den måde undgår I at blive ramt af nogen katastrofe, når du tæller dem. 13 Enhver, der registreres, skal betale ½ shekel,[a] som afvejes på officiel vægt. Det skal være en personlig afgift til Herren. 14 Alle mænd over 20 år skal give Herren et sådant offer. 15 De, som er rige, skal ikke betale mere, og de, som er fattige, skal ikke betale mindre end det fastsatte beløb, for det er et personligt forsoningsoffer til Herren. 16 Brug de indkomne penge til at betale udgifterne ved tjenesten i åbenbaringsteltet. Det skal minde Herren om, at de har betalt løsesum for deres liv.”
Vaskefadet
17 Herren fortsatte sin tale til Moses: 18 „Lav et bronzefad med tilhørende stativ af bronze. Placer fadet mellem åbenbaringsteltet og brændofferalteret og fyld vand i det. 19 Der skal Aron og hans sønner vaske deres hænder og fødder, 20 før de går ind i åbenbaringsteltet, og før de ofrer brændofre til Herren. 21 De skal altid vaske sig inden, og hvis ikke de gør det, skal de dø. Det er en vedvarende ordning, der skal gælde fra slægt til slægt for præsterne, der nedstammer fra Aron.”
Olien til brug ved salvningen
22 Derpå sagde Herren til Moses: 23 „Du skal samle de mest udsøgte aromatiske stoffer: seks kilo ren myrra, tre kilo vellugtende kanel, tre kilo citrongræs, 24 seks kilo kassia (alt sammen afvejet efter officiel tempelvægt) samt fire liter olivenolie. 25 Deraf skal du lave den aromatiske salveolie til brug i helligdommen. 26 Med den skal du salve åbenbaringsteltet, pagtens ark, 27 bordet og alle genstandene på det, lysestagen og de redskaber, der hører til betjeningen af lamperne, røgelsesalteret, 28 brændofferalteret og alle de redskaber, der bruges ved ofringerne, samt bronzefadet og stativet. 29 Derved bliver alle tingene indviet til Herren, og kun de indviede personer må røre ved dem. 30 Også Aron og hans sønner skal salves med den særlige olie og på den måde indvies til præstetjenesten.
31 Salveolien er hellig og skal bruges fra slægt til slægt. 32 Den må kun bruges af præsterne, og I må ikke fremstille salveolie efter samme opskrift til privat brug. Olien er hellig og skal bruges som sådan.
33 Hvis nogen tilbereder en lignende olie eller bruger en sådan olie på personer, der ikke er præsteviet, skal han udstødes af samfundet.”
Røgelsen
34 Så sagde Herren til Moses: „Tag lige dele af aromatiske ekstrakter fra myrra, mollusk, gummiharpiks og virak, 35 og lav en krydret røgelse efter røgelsesblandernes metode, saltet og indviet til helligt brug. 36 Noget af røgelsen skal du støde til fint pulver og lægge det foran arken i åbenbaringsteltet, dér, hvor jeg vil vise mig for dig. Denne røgelse er højhellig. 37 Lav aldrig en lignende røgelse efter samme opskrift til eget brug, for denne røgelse er udelukkende til brug for Herren. 38 Hvis nogen laver en sådan røgelse for selv at nyde duften af den, skal han udstødes af samfundet.”

- 30,13 Shekel var en vægtenhed på ca. 10-12 gram afhængig af tidspunktet. På den tid havde man ikke mønter, men afvejede sølv eller guldstykker efter vægt som betaling. Sølvstykker var mest almindelige.

The Altar of Incense(A)
30 “Make an altar(B) of acacia wood for burning incense.(C) 2 It is to be square, a cubit long and a cubit wide, and two cubits high[a]—its horns(D) of one piece with it. 3 Overlay the top and all the sides and the horns with pure gold, and make a gold molding around it.(E) 4 Make two gold rings(F) for the altar below the molding—two on each of the opposite sides—to hold the poles used to carry it. 5 Make the poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold.(G) 6 Put the altar in front of the curtain that shields the ark of the covenant law—before the atonement cover(H) that is over the tablets of the covenant law—where I will meet with you.
7 “Aaron must burn fragrant incense(I) on the altar every morning when he tends the lamps. 8 He must burn incense again when he lights the lamps at twilight so incense will burn regularly before the Lord for the generations to come.(J) 9 Do not offer on this altar any other incense(K) or any burnt offering or grain offering, and do not pour a drink offering on it. 10 Once a year(L) Aaron shall make atonement(M) on its horns. This annual atonement must be made with the blood of the atoning sin offering[b](N) for the generations to come.(O) It is most holy to the Lord.”
Atonement Money
11 Then the Lord said to Moses, 12 “When you take a census(P) of the Israelites to count them, each one must pay the Lord a ransom(Q) for his life at the time he is counted. Then no plague(R) will come on them when you number them. 13 Each one who crosses over to those already counted is to give a half shekel,[c] according to the sanctuary shekel,(S) which weighs twenty gerahs. This half shekel is an offering to the Lord. 14 All who cross over, those twenty years old or more,(T) are to give an offering to the Lord. 15 The rich are not to give more than a half shekel and the poor are not to give less(U) when you make the offering to the Lord to atone for your lives. 16 Receive the atonement(V) money from the Israelites and use it for the service of the tent of meeting.(W) It will be a memorial(X) for the Israelites before the Lord, making atonement for your lives.”
Basin for Washing
17 Then the Lord said to Moses, 18 “Make a bronze basin,(Y) with its bronze stand, for washing. Place it between the tent of meeting and the altar, and put water in it. 19 Aaron and his sons are to wash their hands and feet(Z) with water(AA) from it. 20 Whenever they enter the tent of meeting, they shall wash with water so that they will not die.(AB) Also, when they approach the altar to minister by presenting a food offering to the Lord, 21 they shall wash their hands and feet so that they will not die. This is to be a lasting ordinance(AC) for Aaron and his descendants for the generations to come.”(AD)
Anointing Oil
22 Then the Lord said to Moses, 23 “Take the following fine spices:(AE) 500 shekels[d] of liquid myrrh,(AF) half as much (that is, 250 shekels) of fragrant cinnamon,(AG) 250 shekels[e] of fragrant calamus,(AH) 24 500 shekels(AI) of cassia(AJ)—all according to the sanctuary shekel—and a hin[f] of olive oil. 25 Make these into a sacred anointing oil, a fragrant blend, the work of a perfumer.(AK) It will be the sacred anointing oil.(AL) 26 Then use it to anoint(AM) the tent of meeting, the ark of the covenant law, 27 the table and all its articles, the lampstand and its accessories, the altar of incense, 28 the altar of burnt offering and all its utensils, and the basin with its stand. 29 You shall consecrate them(AN) so they will be most holy, and whatever touches them will be holy.(AO)
30 “Anoint Aaron and his sons and consecrate(AP) them so they may serve me as priests.(AQ) 31 Say to the Israelites, ‘This is to be my sacred anointing oil(AR) for the generations to come.(AS) 32 Do not pour it on anyone else’s body and do not make any other oil using the same formula. It is sacred, and you are to consider it sacred.(AT) 33 Whoever makes perfume like it and puts it on anyone other than a priest must be cut off(AU) from their people.’”
Incense
34 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Take fragrant spices(AV)—gum resin, onycha and galbanum—and pure frankincense, all in equal amounts, 35 and make a fragrant blend of incense,(AW) the work of a perfumer.(AX) It is to be salted and pure and sacred. 36 Grind some of it to powder and place it in front of the ark of the covenant law in the tent of meeting, where I will meet(AY) with you. It shall be most holy(AZ) to you. 37 Do not make any incense with this formula for yourselves; consider it holy(BA) to the Lord. 38 Whoever makes incense like it to enjoy its fragrance must be cut off(BB) from their people.”

2 A cubit shall be the length thereof, and a cubit the breadth thereof; foursquare shall it be: and two cubits shall be the height thereof: the horns thereof shall be of the same.
3 And thou shalt overlay it with pure gold, the top thereof, and the sides thereof round about, and the horns thereof; and thou shalt make unto it a crown of gold round about.
4 And two golden rings shalt thou make to it under the crown of it, by the two corners thereof, upon the two sides of it shalt thou make it; and they shall be for places for the staves to bear it withal.
5 And thou shalt make the staves of shittim wood, and overlay them with gold.
6 And thou shalt put it before the vail that is by the ark of the testimony, before the mercy seat that is over the testimony, where I will meet with thee.
7 And Aaron shall burn thereon sweet incense every morning: when he dresseth the lamps, he shall burn incense upon it.
8 And when Aaron lighteth the lamps at even, he shall burn incense upon it, a perpetual incense before the Lord throughout your generations.

10 And Aaron shall make an atonement upon the horns of it once in a year with the blood of the sin offering of atonements: once in the year shall he make atonement upon it throughout your generations: it is most holy unto the Lord.
11 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
12 When thou takest the sum of the children of Israel after their number, then shall they give every man a ransom for his soul unto the Lord, when thou numberest them; that there be no plague among them, when thou numberest them.
13 This they shall give, every one that passeth among them that are numbered, half a shekel after the shekel of the sanctuary: (a shekel is twenty gerahs:) an half shekel shall be the offering of the Lord.
14 Every one that passeth among them that are numbered, from twenty years old and above, shall give an offering unto the Lord.
15 The rich shall not give more, and the poor shall not give less than half a shekel, when they give an offering unto the Lord, to make an atonement for your souls.
16 And thou shalt take the atonement money of the children of Israel, and shalt appoint it for the service of the tabernacle of the congregation; that it may be a memorial unto the children of Israel before the Lord, to make an atonement for your souls.
17 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
18 Thou shalt also make a laver of brass, and his foot also of brass, to wash withal: and thou shalt put it between the tabernacle of the congregation and the altar, and thou shalt put water therein.
19 For Aaron and his sons shall wash their hands and their feet thereat:
20 When they go into the tabernacle of the congregation, they shall wash with water, that they die not; or when they come near to the altar to minister, to burn offering made by fire unto the Lord:
21 So they shall wash their hands and their feet, that they die not: and it shall be a statute for ever to them, even to him and to his seed throughout their generations.
22 Moreover the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
23 Take thou also unto thee principal spices, of pure myrrh five hundred shekels, and of sweet cinnamon half so much, even two hundred and fifty shekels, and of sweet calamus two hundred and fifty shekels,
24 And of cassia five hundred shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary, and of oil olive an hin:
25 And thou shalt make it an oil of holy ointment, an ointment compound after the art of the apothecary: it shall be an holy anointing oil.
26 And thou shalt anoint the tabernacle of the congregation therewith, and the ark of the testimony,
27 And the table and all his vessels, and the candlestick and his vessels, and the altar of incense,
28 And the altar of burnt offering with all his vessels, and the laver and his foot.
29 And thou shalt sanctify them, that they may be most holy: whatsoever toucheth them shall be holy.
30 And thou shalt anoint Aaron and his sons, and consecrate them, that they may minister unto me in the priest's office.
31 And thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel, saying, This shall be an holy anointing oil unto me throughout your generations.
32 Upon man's flesh shall it not be poured, neither shall ye make any other like it, after the composition of it: it is holy, and it shall be holy unto you.
33 Whosoever compoundeth any like it, or whosoever putteth any of it upon a stranger, shall even be cut off from his people.
34 And the Lord said unto Moses, Take unto thee sweet spices, stacte, and onycha, and galbanum; these sweet spices with pure frankincense: of each shall there be a like weight:
35 And thou shalt make it a perfume, a confection after the art of the apothecary, tempered together, pure and holy:
36 And thou shalt beat some of it very small, and put of it before the testimony in the tabernacle of the congregation, where I will meet with thee: it shall be unto you most holy.
37 And as for the perfume which thou shalt make, ye shall not make to yourselves according to the composition thereof: it shall be unto thee holy for the Lord.
38 Whosoever shall make like unto that, to smell thereto, shall even be cut off from his people.
