¹⁸ In this matter may Yahweh pardon your servant: when my master goes into the house of Rimmon to worship there, and ^(A)he leans on my hand and I bow myself in the house of Rimmon, when I bow myself in the house of Rimmon, Yahweh pardon your servant in this matter.”

¹⁷ Now the king appointed ^(A)the royal officer on whose hand he leaned ^[a]to have charge of the gate; but the people trampled on him at the gate, and he died just as the man of God had spoken, ^(B)who spoke when the king came down to him.

¹⁹ And the royal officer had answered the man of God and said, “Now behold, ^(A)if Yahweh should make windows in heaven, could such a thing be?” And he had said, “Behold, you will see it with your own eyes, but you will not eat ^[a]of it.”
