Then a breach was made in the city, and all the men of war fled by night by the way of the gate between the two walls, by (A)the king's garden, and (B)the Chaldeans were around the city. And they went in the direction of the (C)Arabah. But the army of the Chaldeans pursued the king and overtook him in the plains of Jericho, and all his army was scattered from him. Then they captured the king (D)and brought him up to the king of Babylon at (E)Riblah, and they passed sentence on him. They slaughtered the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes, (F)and put out the eyes of Zedekiah and bound him in chains and took him to Babylon.

Then the city wall was broken through,(A) and the whole army fled at night through the gate between the two walls near the king’s garden, though the Babylonians[a] were surrounding(B) the city. They fled toward the Arabah,[b] but the Babylonian[c] army pursued the king and overtook him in the plains of Jericho. All his soldiers were separated from him and scattered,(C) and he was captured.(D)

He was taken to the king of Babylon at Riblah,(E) where sentence was pronounced on him. They killed the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes. Then they put out his eyes, bound him with bronze shackles and took him to Babylon.(F)

18 (A)And the captain of the guard took (B)Seraiah the chief priest and (C)Zephaniah the second priest and the three keepers of the threshold; 19 and from the city he took an officer who had been in command of the men of war, and (D)five men of the king's council who were found in the city; and the secretary of the commander of the army, who mustered the people of the land; and sixty men of the people of the land, who were found in the city. 20 And Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard took them and brought them to the king of Babylon at (E)Riblah. 21 And the king of Babylon struck them down and put them to death at (F)Riblah in the land of Hamath. (G)So Judah was taken into exile out of its land.

18 The commander of the guard took as prisoners Seraiah(A) the chief priest, Zephaniah(B) the priest next in rank and the three doorkeepers.(C) 19 Of those still in the city, he took the officer in charge of the fighting men, and five royal advisers. He also took the secretary who was chief officer in charge of conscripting the people of the land and sixty of the conscripts who were found in the city. 20 Nebuzaradan the commander took them all and brought them to the king of Babylon at Riblah. 21 There at Riblah,(D) in the land of Hamath, the king had them executed.(E)

So Judah went into captivity,(F) away from her land.(G)
