² And Yahweh sent against him ^(A)marauding bands of Chaldeans, ^(B)marauding bands of Arameans, ^(C)marauding bands of Moabites, and marauding bands of Ammonites. So He sent them against Judah to destroy it, ^(D)according to the word of Yahweh which He had spoken by the hand of His slaves the prophets.

¹⁷ While this one was still speaking, another also came and said, “The ^(A)Chaldeans set up three companies and made a raid on the camels and took them and struck down the young men with the edge of the sword, and I alone have escaped to tell you.”

¹³ Behold, the land of the Chaldeans—this is the people which was not; ^(A)Assyria established it for ^(B)desert creatures—they erected their siege towers, they stripped its palaces, ^(C)they made it a ruin.
