Capture of Jerusalem

13 He carried off all the treasures of the house of the Lord and the treasures of the king’s house; he cut in pieces all the vessels of gold in the temple of the Lord that King Solomon of Israel had made, all this as the Lord had foretold.(A) 14 He carried away all Jerusalem, all the officials, all the warriors, ten thousand captives, all the artisans and the smiths; no one remained except the poorest people of the land.(B) 15 He carried away Jehoiachin to Babylon; the king’s mother, the king’s wives, his officials, and the elite of the land, he took into captivity from Jerusalem to Babylon.(C)

13 As the Lord had declared,(A) Nebuchadnezzar removed the treasures(B) from the temple of the Lord and from the royal palace, and cut up the gold articles(C) that Solomon(D) king of Israel had made for the temple of the Lord. 14 He carried all Jerusalem into exile:(E) all the officers and fighting men,(F) and all the skilled workers and artisans—a total of ten thousand. Only the poorest(G) people of the land were left.

15 Nebuchadnezzar took Jehoiachin(H) captive to Babylon. He also took from Jerusalem to Babylon the king’s mother,(I) his wives, his officials and the prominent people(J) of the land.
