4 (A)And he built altars in the house of the Lord, of which the Lord had said, (B)“In Jerusalem will I put my name.” 5 And he built altars (C)for all the host of heaven in (D)the two courts of the house of the Lord. 6 (E)And he burned his son as an offering[a] and (F)used fortune-telling and (G)omens and dealt (H)with mediums and with necromancers. He did much evil in the sight of the Lord, provoking him to anger. 7 And the carved image of (I)Asherah that he had made he set in the house of which the Lord said to David and to Solomon his son, “In this house, (J)and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, I will put my name forever.

4 He built altars(A) in the temple of the Lord, of which the Lord had said, “In Jerusalem I will put my Name.”(B) 5 In the two courts(C) of the temple of the Lord, he built altars to all the starry hosts. 6 He sacrificed his own son(D) in the fire, practiced divination,(E) sought omens, and consulted mediums and spiritists.(F) He did much evil in the eyes of the Lord, arousing(G) his anger.
7 He took the carved Asherah pole(H) he had made and put it in the temple,(I) of which the Lord had said to David and to his son Solomon, “In this temple and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, I will put my Name(J) forever.
