^4 (A)He took away the high places and shattered the sacred pillars and cut down the ^[a]Asherah. And he broke in pieces ^(B)the bronze serpent that Moses had made, for until those days the sons of Israel were burning incense to it; and it was called ^[b]Nehushtan.

¹⁴ And as ^(A)Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must ^(B)the Son of Man ^(C)be lifted up; ¹⁵ so that whoever believes will ^(D)in Him have eternal life.
