28 And he did what was evil in the sight of the Lord. He did not depart from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, (A)which he made Israel to sin.
29 In the days of Pekah king of Israel, (B)Tiglath-pileser king of Assyria came and captured (C)Ijon, (D)Abel-beth-maacah, Janoah, (E)Kedesh, (F)Hazor, Gilead, and (G)Galilee, all the land of Naphtali, and he carried the people captive to Assyria. 30 Then Hoshea the son of Elah made a conspiracy against Pekah the son of Remaliah and struck him down and put him to death and reigned in his place, (H)in the twentieth year of Jotham the son of Uzziah.

28 He did evil in the eyes of the Lord. He did not turn away from the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, which he had caused Israel to commit.
29 In the time of Pekah king of Israel, Tiglath-Pileser(A) king of Assyria came and took Ijon,(B) Abel Beth Maakah, Janoah, Kedesh and Hazor. He took Gilead and Galilee, including all the land of Naphtali,(C) and deported(D) the people to Assyria. 30 Then Hoshea(E) son of Elah conspired against Pekah son of Remaliah. He attacked and assassinated(F) him, and then succeeded him as king in the twentieth year of Jotham son of Uzziah.
