16 So they laid hands on her; she went through the horses’ entrance to the king’s house, and there she was put to death.
17 Jehoiada made a covenant between the Lord and the king and people, that they should be the Lord’s people; also between the king and the people.(A) 18 Then all the people of the land went to the house of Baal and tore it down; his altars and his images they broke in pieces, and they killed Mattan, the priest of Baal, in front of the altars. The priest posted guards over the house of the Lord.(B)

16 So they seized her as she reached the place where the horses enter(A) the palace grounds, and there she was put to death.(B)
17 Jehoiada then made a covenant(C) between the Lord and the king and people that they would be the Lord’s people. He also made a covenant between the king and the people.(D) 18 All the people of the land went to the temple(E) of Baal and tore it down. They smashed(F) the altars and idols to pieces and killed Mattan the priest(G) of Baal in front of the altars.
Then Jehoiada the priest posted guards at the temple of the Lord.
