32 In those days the (A)Lord began to cut off pieces from Israel; and (B)Hazael [a]defeated them throughout the territory of Israel: 33 from the Jordan eastward, all the land of Gilead, the Gadites, the Reubenites, and the Manassites; from (C)Aroer, which is by the Valley of the Arnon, that is, (D)Gilead and Bashan.

32 In those days the Lord began to reduce(A) the size of Israel. Hazael(B) overpowered the Israelites throughout their territory 33 east of the Jordan in all the land of Gilead (the region of Gad, Reuben and Manasseh), from Aroer(C) by the Arnon(D) Gorge through Gilead to Bashan.
