⁵ In the two courts^(A) of the temple of the Lord, he built altars to all the starry hosts.

¹² The great courtyard was surrounded by a wall of three courses^(A) of dressed stone and one course of trimmed cedar beams, as was the inner courtyard of the temple of the Lord with its portico.

¹² He pulled down^(A) the altars the kings of Judah had erected on the roof^(B) near the upper room of Ahaz, and the altars Manasseh had built in the two courts^(C) of the temple of the Lord. He removed them from there, smashed them to pieces and threw the rubble into the Kidron Valley.^(D)

⁴ The king ordered Hilkiah the high priest, the priests next in rank and the doorkeepers^(A) to remove^(B) from the temple of the Lord all the articles made for Baal and Asherah and all the starry hosts. He burned them outside Jerusalem in the fields of the Kidron Valley and took the ashes to Bethel.

³⁶ And he built the inner courtyard^(A) of three courses^(B) of dressed stone and one course of trimmed cedar beams.

¹⁹ When they go out into the outer court where the people are, they are to take off the clothes they have been ministering in and are to leave them in the sacred rooms, and put on other clothes, so that the people are not consecrated^(A) through contact with their garments.^(B)

⁵ Then the Spirit^(A) lifted me up^(B) and brought me into the inner court, and the glory^(C) of the Lord filled the temple.^(D)

³ Both in the section twenty cubits^[a] from the inner court and in the section opposite the pavement of the outer court, gallery^(A) faced gallery at the three levels.^(B)

⁴⁷ Then he measured the court: It was square—a hundred cubits long and a hundred cubits wide. And the altar was in front of the temple.^(A)

³⁷ Its portico^[a](A) faced the outer court; palm trees decorated the jambs on either side, and eight steps led up to it.^(B)
