¹⁷ But they persisted until he was too embarrassed^(A) to refuse. So he said, “Send them.” And they sent fifty men, who searched for three days but did not find him.

¹¹ He stared at him with a fixed gaze until Hazael was embarrassed.^(A) Then the man of God began to weep.^(B)

⁵ By faith Enoch was taken from this life, so that he did not experience death: “He could not be found, because God had taken him away.”^[a](A) For before he was taken, he was commended as one who pleased God.

² For I can testify about them that they are zealous^(A) for God, but their zeal is not based on knowledge.

⁸ I tell you, even though he will not get up and give you the bread because of friendship, yet because of your shameless audacity^[a] he will surely get up and give you as much as you need.^(A)
