³⁸ Look on this side and on that; here are delight and rest, and there are fire and torments.’ Thus he will speak to them on the day of judgment,^(A)

⁷ And he said to me, “If I had asked you, ‘How many dwellings are in the heart of the sea, or how many streams are at the source of the deep, or how many streams are above the firmament, or which are the exits of Hades, or which are the entrances^[a] of paradise?’^(A)

² and before the rumblings of thunder sounded, and before the flashes of lightning shone, and before the foundations of paradise were laid,

¹⁴ Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire,^(A)

¹⁵ and anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.
