5 For even when we came into (A)Macedonia our flesh had no rest, but we were (B)afflicted on every side—(C)conflicts without, fears within. 6 But (D)God, who comforts the humbled, (E)comforted us by the coming of (F)Titus; 7 and not only by his coming, but also by the comfort with which he was comforted in you, as he reported to us your longing, your mourning, your zeal for me, so that I rejoiced even more.

Instead, we were troubled in every way: conflicts(B) on the outside, fears(C) within. 6 But God, who comforts the downcast,(D) comforted us by the arrival of Titus, 7 and not only by his arrival but also by the comfort he received from you. He told us about your deep longing, your sorrow, and your zeal(E) for me, so that I rejoiced even more.
