12 So although I wrote to you, it was not for the sake of the one (A)who did the wrong, nor for the sake of the one who suffered the wrong, but in order that your earnestness for us might be revealed to you in the sight of God. 13 Therefore (B)we are comforted.

And besides our own comfort, we rejoiced still more at the joy of Titus, because his spirit (C)has been refreshed by you all. 14 For (D)whatever boasts I made to him about you, I was not put to shame. But just as everything we said to you (E)was true, so also our boasting before Titus has proved true.

12 So even though I wrote to you,(A) it was neither on account of the one who did the wrong(B) nor on account of the injured party, but rather that before God you could see for yourselves how devoted to us you are. 13 By all this we are encouraged.

In addition to our own encouragement, we were especially delighted to see how happy Titus(C) was, because his spirit has been refreshed by all of you. 14 I had boasted to him about you,(D) and you have not embarrassed me. But just as everything we said to you was true, so our boasting about you to Titus(E) has proved to be true as well.
