¹⁹ That is, in Christ, God was reconciling the world^(A) to himself,^(B) not counting their trespasses against them, and he has committed the message of reconciliation to us.

²⁰ Therefore, we are ambassadors^(C) for Christ, since God is making his appeal through us. We plead on Christ’s behalf,^(D) “Be reconciled to God.” ²¹ He made the one who did not know sin^(E) to be sin^[a] for us,^(F) so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

⁹ For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ: Though he was rich,^(A) for your sake he became poor,^(B) so that by his poverty you might become rich.
