Be Reconciled to God

12 For (A)we do not commend ourselves again to you, but give you opportunity (B)to boast on our behalf, that you may have an answer for those who boast in appearance and not in heart. 13 For (C)if we are beside ourselves, it is for God; or if we are of sound mind, it is for you. 14 For the love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus: that (D)if One died for all, then all died; 15 and He died for all, (E)that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.

16 (F)Therefore, from now on, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, (G)yet now we know Him thus no longer. 17 Therefore, if anyone (H)is in Christ, he is (I)a new creation; (J)old things have passed away; behold, all things have become (K)new. 18 Now all things are of God, (L)who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, 19 that is, that (M)God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not [a]imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.

12 We are not trying to commend ourselves to you again,(A) but are giving you an opportunity to take pride in us,(B) so that you can answer those who take pride in what is seen rather than in what is in the heart. 13 If we are “out of our mind,”(C) as some say, it is for God; if we are in our right mind, it is for you. 14 For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died.(D) 15 And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves(E) but for him who died for them(F) and was raised again.

16 So from now on we regard no one from a worldly(G) point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ,(H) the new creation(I) has come:[a] The old has gone, the new is here!(J) 18 All this is from God,(K) who reconciled us to himself through Christ(L) and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: 19 that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them.(M) And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.
