¹² We are not ^(A)again commending ourselves to you but are giving you an ^(B)occasion to be proud of us, so that you will have an answer for those who take pride in appearance and not in heart.

¹² For we are not bold to class or compare ourselves with ^[a]some of those who ^(A)commend themselves; but when they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they are without understanding.

¹⁸ For it is not he who ^(A)commends himself that is approved, but he ^(B)whom the Lord commends.

¹¹ I have become ^(A)foolish; you yourselves compelled me. Actually I should have been commended by you, for ^(B)in no respect was I inferior to the ^[a]most eminent apostles, even though ^(C)I am a nobody.
