2 Corinthians 4:6-10

⁶For it is the God who said, “Light will shine out of darkness,” who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.^(A)

⁷But we have this treasure in clay jars, so that it may be made clear that this extraordinary power belongs to God and does not come from us.^(B) ⁸We are afflicted in every way but not crushed, perplexed but not driven to despair, ⁹persecuted but not forsaken, struck down but not destroyed, ¹⁰always carrying around in the body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be made visible in our bodies.^(C)

⁶For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,”^[a]^(A) made his light shine in our hearts^(B) to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ.^(C)

⁷But we have this treasure in jars of clay^(D) to show that this all-surpassing power is from God^(E) and not from us. ⁸We are hard pressed on every side,^(F) but not crushed; perplexed,^(G) but not in despair; ⁹persecuted,^(H) but not abandoned;^(I) struck down, but not destroyed.^(J) ¹⁰We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus,^(K) so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.^(L)
