²⁰ For I am afraid that perhaps ^(A)when I come I may find you to be not what I wish and may be found by you to be not what you wish; that perhaps there will be ^(B)strife, jealousy, ^(C)angry tempers, ^(D)disputes, ^(E)slanders, ^(F)gossip, ^(G)arrogance, ^(H)disturbances;

²⁰ idolatry, ^(A)sorcery, enmities, ^(B)strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, ^(C)disputes, dissensions, ^[a](D)factions,

¹⁷ the former proclaim Christ ^(A)out of selfish ambition ^[a]rather than from pure motives, thinking to cause me distress in my ^[b](B)imprisonment.

³ Do nothing ^[a]from ^[b](A)selfishness or ^(B)empty conceit, but with humility of mind ^(C)regard one another as more important than yourselves;

¹⁴ But if you have bitter ^(A)jealousy and ^[a]selfish ambition in your heart, do not be arrogant and so lie against ^(B)the truth.

¹⁶ For where ^(A)jealousy and ^[a]selfish ambition exist, ^[b]there is disorder and every evil thing.
