5 He set to work resolutely and built up (A)all the wall that was broken down and raised towers upon it,[a] and outside it he built another wall, and he strengthened the (B)Millo in the city of David. He also made weapons and shields in abundance.

5 Then he worked hard repairing all the broken sections of the wall(A) and building towers on it. He built another wall outside that one and reinforced the terraces[a](B) of the City of David. He also made large numbers of weapons(C) and shields.
