25 But Hezekiah gave no return for the benefit [a]he received, (A)because his heart was [b]proud; (B)therefore wrath came on him and on Judah and Jerusalem. 26 However, (C)Hezekiah [c]humbled the pride of his heart, both he and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that the wrath of Yahweh did not come on them in the days of Hezekiah.

27 Now Hezekiah had abundant riches and honor; and he made for himself treasuries for silver, gold, precious stones, spices, shields, and all kinds of desirable articles,

25 But Hezekiah’s heart was proud(A) and he did not respond to the kindness shown him; therefore the Lord’s wrath(B) was on him and on Judah and Jerusalem. 26 Then Hezekiah repented(C) of the pride of his heart, as did the people of Jerusalem; therefore the Lord’s wrath did not come on them during the days of Hezekiah.(D)

27 Hezekiah had very great wealth and honor,(E) and he made treasuries for his silver and gold and for his precious stones, spices, shields and all kinds of valuables.
