3 He removed the foreign altars and shrines, smashed the sacred pillars, cut down the sacred poles,[a] 4 and urged Judah to seek the Lord, the God of their ancestors, by doing what the Instruction and the commandments required. 5 He also removed the shrines and incense altars from all the cities of Judah so that the kingdom was at peace under him.

3 He removed the foreign altars(A) and the high places, smashed the sacred stones(B) and cut down the Asherah poles.[a](C) 4 He commanded Judah to seek the Lord,(D) the God of their ancestors, and to obey his laws and commands. 5 He removed the high places(E) and incense altars(F) in every town in Judah, and the kingdom was at peace under him.
