16 And Rehoboam slept with his fathers and was buried in the city of David, and (A)Abijah[a] his son reigned in his place.

Abijah Reigns in Judah

13 (B)In the eighteenth year of King Jeroboam, (C)Abijah began to reign over Judah. He reigned for three years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was (D)Micaiah[b] the daughter of Uriel of Gibeah.

(E)Now there was war between Abijah and Jeroboam.
