72 O God, give the king (A)Your judgments,
And (B)Your righteousness to the king’s son.
[a]May [b]he (C)render judgment to Your people with righteousness
And (D)Your [c]afflicted with justice.

For if you call out for understanding,
Give your voice for discernment;
If you seek her as (A)silver
And search for her as for (B)hidden treasures;
Then you will understand the (C)fear of Yahweh
And find the knowledge of God.
For (D)Yahweh gives wisdom;
From His mouth come knowledge and discernment.
He stores up sound wisdom for the upright,
A (E)shield to those who walk in integrity,
To guard the paths of justice,
And He (F)keeps the way of His holy ones.
Then you will understand (G)righteousness and justice
And equity—every (H)good track.
