¹³ Do you not know what I and my fathers have done to all the peoples of other lands? ^(A)Were the gods of the nations of those lands in any way able to deliver their lands out of my hand?

^33 (A)Has any of the gods of the nations at all delivered its land from the hand of the king of Assyria? ³⁴ Where are the gods of ^(B)Hamath and Arpad? Where are the gods of Sepharvaim and Hena and ^(C)Ivah? Indeed, have they delivered Samaria from my hand? ³⁵ Who among all the gods of the lands have delivered their countries from my hand, ^(D)that the Lord should deliver Jerusalem from my hand?’ ”

⁴ Therefore concerning the eating of things offered to idols, we know that ^(A)an idol is nothing in the world, ^(B)and that there is no other God but one.

²⁶ Moreover you see and hear that not only at Ephesus, but throughout almost all Asia, this Paul has persuaded and turned away many people, saying that ^(A)they are not gods which are made with hands.

¹⁹ And because of the majesty that He gave him, ^(A)all peoples, nations, and languages trembled and feared before him. Whomever he wished, he ^(B)executed; whomever he wished, he kept alive; whomever he wished, he set up; and whomever he wished, he put down.
