²¹ Rehoboam loved Maacah daughter of Absalom more than all his other wives and concubines (he took eighteen wives and sixty concubines and became the father of twenty-eight sons and sixty daughters).^(A)

¹⁷ And he must not acquire many wives for himself or else his heart will turn away; also silver and gold he must not acquire in great quantity for himself.^(A)

³ Among his wives were seven hundred princesses and three hundred concubines, and his wives turned away his heart.

¹³ In Jerusalem, after he came from Hebron, David took more concubines and wives, and more sons and daughters were born to David.^(A)

² Sons were born to David at Hebron: his firstborn was Amnon, of Ahinoam of Jezreel;^{(A) 3} his second was Chileab, of Abigail the widow of Nabal of Carmel; the third was Absalom son of Maacah, daughter of King Talmai of Geshur;^{(B) 4} the fourth was Adonijah son of Haggith; the fifth was Shephatiah son of Abital;^{(C) 5} and the sixth was Ithream, of David’s wife Eglah. These were born to David in Hebron.
