¹⁸ Then King Rehoboam sent ^(A)Hadoram,^[a] who was taskmaster over the forced labor, and the people of Israel stoned him to death with stones. And King Rehoboam quickly mounted his chariot to flee to Jerusalem.

¹⁴ And he sent them to Lebanon, 10,000 a month in shifts. They would be a month in Lebanon and two months at home. ^(A)Adoniram was in charge of the draft.

⁶ Ahishar was in charge of the palace; and ^(A)Adoniram the son of Abda was in charge of ^(B)the forced labor.

⁵⁷ But they cried out with a loud voice and stopped their ears and rushed together^[a] at him. ⁵⁸ Then ^(A)they cast him out of the city and ^(B)stoned him. And ^(C)the witnesses laid down their garments ^(D)at the feet of a young man named Saul.

²¹ But ^(A)they conspired against him, ^(B)and by command of the king they stoned him with stones in the court of the house of the Lord.
