17 Let the elders who rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in the word and in teaching. 18 For the Scripture says, “You shall not muzzle the ox when it treads out the grain.”

Elders and Their Duties
17 Elders who handle their duties[a] well should be considered worthy of double compensation,[b] especially those who work hard at preaching and teaching. 18 For the Scripture says, “You must not muzzle an ox while it is treading out grain,”[c] and, “A worker deserves his pay.”[d]
