1 Timothy 4:6-10
Holman Christian Standard Bible
A Good Servant of Jesus Christ
6 If you point these things out to the brothers, you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, nourished by the words of the faith(A) and the good teaching that you have followed.(B) 7 But have nothing to do with irreverent and silly myths.(C) Rather, train yourself in godliness,(D) 8 for
the training of the body has a limited benefit,(E)
but godliness is beneficial in every way,
since it holds promise for the present life
and also for the life to come.(F)
9 This saying is trustworthy and deserves full acceptance.(G) 10 In fact, we labor and strive[a] for this, because we have put our hope in the living God,(H) who is the Savior(I) of everyone,(J) especially of those who believe.

The Good Servant of Christ
6 By[a] teaching these things to the brothers, you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, trained in the words of the faith and of the good teaching that you have followed faithfully. 7 But reject those worthless myths told by elderly women[b], and train yourself for godliness. 8 For the training of the body is somewhat[c] profitable, but godliness is profitable for everything, because it[d] holds promise for the present life and for the life to come. 9 The statement is trustworthy and deserving of complete acceptance. 10 For to this end we labor and suffer reproach,[e] because we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all people, especially of believers.
