We know that the law is good(A) if one uses it properly. We also know that the law is made not for the righteous(B) but for lawbreakers and rebels,(C) the ungodly and sinful, the unholy and irreligious, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers, 10 for the sexually immoral, for those practicing homosexuality, for slave traders and liars and perjurers—and for whatever else is contrary to the sound doctrine(D) 11 that conforms to the gospel concerning the glory of the blessed God, which he entrusted to me.(E)

Of course, we know that the Law is good if a person uses it legitimately, that is, if he understands that the Law is not intended for righteous[a] people but for lawbreakers and rebels, for ungodly people and sinners, for those who are unholy and irreverent, for those who kill their fathers, their mothers, or other people, 10 for those involved in sexual immorality, for homosexuals, for kidnappers,[b] for liars, for false witnesses, and for whatever else goes against the healthy teaching 11 that agrees with the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which he entrusted to me.
