1 Timothy 1:3-7
New King James Version
No Other Doctrine
3 As I urged you (A)when I went into Macedonia—remain in Ephesus that you may [a]charge some (B)that they teach no other doctrine, 4 (C)nor give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which cause disputes rather than godly edification which is in faith. 5 Now (D)the purpose of the commandment is love (E)from a pure heart, from a good conscience, and from [b]sincere faith, 6 from which some, having strayed, have turned aside to (F)idle talk, 7 desiring to be teachers of the law, understanding neither what they say nor the things which they affirm.

American Standard Version
3 As I exhorted thee to tarry at Ephesus, when I was going into Macedonia, that thou mightest charge certain men not to teach a different doctrine, 4 neither to give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questionings, rather than a [a]dispensation of God which is in faith; so do I now. 5 But the end of the charge is love out of a pure heart and a good conscience and faith unfeigned: 6 from which things some having [b]swerved have turned aside unto vain talking; 7 desiring to be teachers of the law, though they understand neither what they say, nor whereof they confidently affirm.
