1 Timothy 5:11-15

Amplified Bible

¹¹But refuse [to enroll the] younger widows, for when they feel their natural desires in disregard of Christ, they wish to marry again, ¹²and so they incur condemnation for having set aside their ^[a]previous pledge. ¹³Now at the same time, they also learn to be idle as they go from house to house; and not only idle, but also gossips and ^[b]busybodies [meddlers in things that do not concern them], talking about things they should not mention. ¹⁴So I want younger widows to get married, have children, manage their households, and not give opponents of the faith any occasion for slander. ¹⁵Some [widows] have already turned away [from the faith] to follow Satan.

¹¹But refuse to register younger widows, for when they feel ^(A)physical desires alienating them from Christ, they want to get married, ¹²thereby incurring condemnation, because they have ^[a]ignored their previous pledge. ¹³At the same time they also learn to be idle, as they go around from house to house; and not merely idle, but also they become ^(B)gossips and ^(C)busybodies, talking about ^(D)things not proper to mention. ¹⁴Therefore, I want younger widows to get ^(E)married, have children, ^(F)manage their households, and ^(G)give the enemy no opportunity for reproach; ¹⁵for some ^(H)have already turned away to follow ^(I)Satan.
