1 Thessalonians 2:17-20
New American Standard Bible
17 But we, brothers and sisters, having been orphaned from you by absence for a [a]short while—(A)in [b]person, not in [c]spirit—were all the more eager with great desire (B)to see your face. 18 [d]For (C)we wanted to come to you—I, Paul, [e](D)more than once—and (E)Satan (F)hindered us. 19 For who is our hope, or (G)joy or crown of pride, in the presence of our Lord Jesus at His [f](H)coming? Or is it not indeed you? 20 For you are (I)our glory and joy.

Paul’s Desire to Visit the Thessalonians Again
17 But since we were bereft of you, brethren, for a short time, in person not in heart, we endeavored the more eagerly and with great desire to see you face to face; 18 because we wanted to come to you—I, Paul, again and again—but Satan hindered us. 19 For what is our hope or joy or crown of boasting before our Lord Jesus at his coming? Is it not you? 20 For you are our glory and joy.
