1 Thessalonians 2:17-20
Legacy Standard Bible
17 But we, brothers, having been taken away from you for a [a]short while—(A)in face but not in heart—were all the more eager with great desire (B)to see your face. 18 [b]For (C)we wanted to come to you—I, Paul, [c](D)more than once—and yet (E)Satan (F)hindered us. 19 For who is our hope or (G)joy or crown of boasting? Is it not even you, before our Lord Jesus at His [d](H)coming? 20 For you are (I)our glory and joy.

Paul’s desire to visit
17 Brothers and sisters, we were separated from you for a while physically but not in our hearts. We made every effort in our desire to see you again face-to-face. 18 We wanted to come to you—I, Paul, tried over and over again—and Satan stopped us. 19 What is our hope, joy, or crown that we can brag about in front of our Lord Jesus when he comes? Isn’t it all of you? 20 You are our glory and joy!
