Legacy Standard Bible
17 But we, brothers, having been taken away from you for a [a]short while—(A)in face but not in heart—were all the more eager with great desire (B)to see your face. 18 [b]For (C)we wanted to come to you—I, Paul, [c](D)more than once—and yet (E)Satan (F)hindered us. 19 For who is our hope or (G)joy or crown of boasting? Is it not even you, before our Lord Jesus at His [d](H)coming? 20 For you are (I)our glory and joy.

American Standard Version
17 But we, brethren, being bereaved of you for [a]a short season, in presence not in heart, endeavored the more exceedingly to see your face with great desire: 18 because we would fain have come unto you, I Paul once and again; and Satan hindered us. 19 For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of glorying? Are not even ye, before our Lord Jesus at his [b]coming? 20 For ye are our glory and our joy.
