1 Thessalonians 2:9-13
New American Bible (Revised Edition)
9 You recall, brothers, our toil and drudgery. Working night and day in order not to burden any of you, we proclaimed to you the gospel of God.(A) 10 You are witnesses, and so is God, how devoutly and justly and blamelessly we behaved toward you believers. 11 As you know, we treated each one of you as a father treats his children,(B) 12 exhorting and encouraging you and insisting that you conduct yourselves as worthy of the God who calls you into his kingdom and glory.(C)
Further Thanksgiving. 13 And for this reason we too give thanks to God unceasingly, that, in receiving the word of God from hearing us, you received not a human word but, as it truly is, the word of God, which is now at work in you who believe.

1 Thessalonians 2:9-13
New International Version
9 Surely you remember, brothers and sisters, our toil and hardship; we worked(A) night and day in order not to be a burden to anyone(B) while we preached the gospel of God to you. 10 You are witnesses,(C) and so is God,(D) of how holy,(E) righteous and blameless we were among you who believed. 11 For you know that we dealt with each of you as a father deals with his own children,(F) 12 encouraging, comforting and urging you to live lives worthy(G) of God, who calls(H) you into his kingdom and glory.
13 And we also thank God continually(I) because, when you received the word of God,(J) which you heard from us, you accepted it not as a human word, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is indeed at work in you who believe.
