For you know what instructions we gave you by the authority of the Lord Jesus.

It is God’s will(A) that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality;(B) that each of you should learn to control your own body[a](C) in a way that is holy and honorable, not in passionate lust(D) like the pagans,(E) who do not know God;(F) and that in this matter no one should wrong or take advantage of a brother or sister.[b](G) The Lord will punish(H) all those who commit such sins,(I) as we told you and warned you before. For God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life.(J) Therefore, anyone who rejects this instruction does not reject a human being but God, the very God who gives you his Holy Spirit.(K)

Now about your love for one another(L) we do not need to write to you,(M) for you yourselves have been taught by God(N) to love each other.(O)

for you know what commandments we gave you through the Lord Jesus.

For this is (A)the will of God, (B)your sanctification: (C)that you should abstain from sexual immorality; (D)that each of you should know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor, (E)not in passion of lust, (F)like the Gentiles (G)who do not know God; that no one should take advantage of and defraud his brother in this matter, because the Lord (H)is the avenger of all such, as we also forewarned you and testified. For God did not call us to uncleanness, (I)but in holiness. (J)Therefore he who rejects this does not reject man, but God, (K)who[a] has also given us His Holy Spirit.

A Brotherly and Orderly Life

For (K)God has not called us for [e](L)impurity, but in sanctification. Therefore, the one who rejects this is not rejecting man, but the God who (M)gives His Holy Spirit to you.

Now as to the (N)love of the brothers and sisters, you (O)have no need for anyone to write to you, for you yourselves are (P)taught by God to love one another;
