20 Eli would bless Elkanah and his wife:(A) “May the Lord give you children by this woman in place of the one she[a] has given to the Lord.”(B) Then they would go home.
21 The Lord paid attention to Hannah’s need,(C) and she conceived and gave birth to three sons and two daughters. Meanwhile, the boy Samuel grew up in the presence of the Lord.(D)

20 Then Eli would bless Elkanah and his wife and say,[a] “May the Lord give[b] you descendants[c] from this woman in place of the one she dedicated[d] to the Lord.” Then they would return to their[e] home.[f]
21 The Lord took note of Hannah,[g] and she became pregnant and gave birth to[h] three sons and two daughters. Meanwhile, the boy Samuel continued to grow,[i] and the Lord was constantly[j] with him.
