20 Eli would bless Elkanah and his wife. Eli would say, “May the Lord repay you with children through Hannah. They will take the place of the boy Hannah prayed for and gave back to the Lord.” Then Elkanah and Hannah would go home. 21 The Lord was kind to Hannah. She became the mother of three sons and two daughters. And the boy Samuel grew up serving the Lord.

20 Eli would bless Elkanah and his wife, saying, “May the Lord give you children by this woman to take the place of the one she prayed(A) for and gave to[a] the Lord.” Then they would go home. 21 And the Lord was gracious to Hannah;(B) she gave birth to three sons and two daughters. Meanwhile, the boy Samuel grew(C) up in the presence of the Lord.
