³⁵ But ^(A)I will raise up for Myself a faithful priest who will do according to what is in My heart and in My soul; and ^(B)I will build him a faithful house, and he will walk before ^(C)My anointed always.

⁹ And Samuel took ^(A)a suckling lamb and offered it for a whole burnt offering to Yahweh; and Samuel cried out to Yahweh for Israel, and ^(B)Yahweh answered him.

¹⁰ Now Samuel was offering up the burnt offering, and the Philistines drew near to battle against Israel. But ^(A)Yahweh thundered with a great ^[a]thunder on that day against the Philistines and ^(B)confused them, so that they were ^[b]defeated before Israel.

Saul Doesn’t Keep Yahweh’s Commandment

⁸ So ^(A)he waited seven days, according to the appointed time set by Samuel, but Samuel did not come to Gilgal; and the people were scattering from him. ⁹ So Saul said, “Bring near to me the burnt offering and the peace offerings.” And ^(B)he offered the burnt offering. ¹⁰ And as soon as he finished offering the burnt offering, behold, Samuel came; and ^(C)Saul went out to meet him and to ^[a]greet him.

Yahweh Raises Up Judges

^16 (A)Then Yahweh raised up judges ^[a]who saved them from the hands of those who plundered them.
