³And ere the lamp of God went out in the temple of the Lord, where the ark of God was, and Samuel was laid down to sleep;

New International Version

³The lamp^(A) of God had not yet gone out, and Samuel was lying down in the house^(B) of the Lord, where the ark^(C) of God was.

⁷In my distress I called upon the Lord, and cried to my God: and he did hear my voice out of his temple, and my cry did enter into his ears.

⁷“In my distress^(A) I called^(B) to the Lord;
I called out to my God.
From his temple he heard my voice;
my cry came to his ears.
