8 Be serious!(A) Be alert!(B) Your adversary the Devil(C) is prowling around like a roaring lion, looking for anyone he can devour. 9 Resist him(D) and be firm in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are being experienced by your fellow believers throughout the world.
10 Now the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory(E) in Christ Jesus, will personally[a] restore, establish, strengthen, and support you after you have suffered a little.[b] 11 The dominion[c] belongs to Him forever.[d] Amen.

Your adversary the devil walks around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. 9 Resist him[a], steadfast in your[b] faith, because you[c] know the same kinds of sufferings are being accomplished by your community of believers in the world. 10 And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ,[d] after you[e] have suffered for a short time, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you. 11 To him be the power forever and ever[f].[g] Amen.
