You rejoice in this,[a] even though now for a short time, if necessary, you suffer grief in various trials(A) so that the proven character of your faith(B)—more valuable than gold which, though perishable, is refined by fire(C)—may result(D) in praise, glory, and honor(E) at the revelation of Jesus Christ.(F)

(Your faith is more valuable than gold, which will be destroyed even though it is itself tested by fire.) Your genuine faith will result in praise, glory, and honor for you when Jesus Christ is revealed.
