1 Peter 2:18-25
New American Standard Bible
18 (A)Servants, be subject to your masters with all respect, not only to those who are good and (B)gentle, but also to those who are [a]harsh. 19 For this finds favor, if for the sake of (C)conscience toward God a person endures [b]grief when suffering unjustly. 20 For what credit is there if, when you sin and are harshly treated, you endure it with patience? But if (D)when you do what is right and suffer for it you patiently endure it, this finds favor with God.
Christ Is Our Example
21 For (E)you have been called for this purpose, (F)because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you (G)an example, so that you would follow in His steps, 22 He who (H)committed no sin, nor was any deceit found in His mouth; 23 [c]and while being (I)abusively insulted, He did not insult in return; while suffering, He did not threaten, but kept entrusting Himself to Him who judges righteously; 24 and He Himself [d](J)brought our sins in His body up on the [e](K)cross, so that we (L)might die to [f]sin and live for righteousness; (M)by His [g]wounds you were (N)healed. 25 For you were (O)continually straying like sheep, but now you have returned to the (P)Shepherd and [h]Guardian of your souls.

Lexham English Bible
18 Domestic slaves, be subject to your[a] masters with all respect, not only to those who are good and gentle, but also to those who are unjust. 19 For this finds favor, if because of consciousness of God someone endures sorrows while[b] suffering unjustly. 20 For what credit is it if, when you[c] sin and are beaten for it, you endure? But if you endure when you[d] do good and suffer for it, this finds favor with God. 21 For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you should follow in his footsteps, 22 who did not commit sin, nor was deceit found in his mouth,[e] 23 who when he[f] was reviled, did not revile in return; when[g] suffering, he did not threaten, but entrusted himself to the one who judges justly, 24 who himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we may die to sins and live to righteousness, by whose wounds you were healed. 25 For you were going astray like sheep, but you have turned back now to the shepherd and guardian of your souls.

New International Version
18 Slaves, in reverent fear of God submit yourselves to your masters,(A) not only to those who are good and considerate,(B) but also to those who are harsh. 19 For it is commendable if someone bears up under the pain of unjust suffering because they are conscious of God.(C) 20 But how is it to your credit if you receive a beating for doing wrong and endure it? But if you suffer for doing good and you endure it, this is commendable before God.(D) 21 To this(E) you were called,(F) because Christ suffered for you,(G) leaving you an example,(H) that you should follow in his steps.
23 When they hurled their insults at him,(K) he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no threats.(L) Instead, he entrusted himself(M) to him who judges justly.(N) 24 “He himself bore our sins”(O) in his body on the cross,(P) so that we might die to sins(Q) and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.”(R) 25 For “you were like sheep going astray,”[b](S) but now you have returned to the Shepherd(T) and Overseer of your souls.(U)
