1 Kings 15:27-31

²⁷Then ^(A)Baasha the son of Ahijah of the house of Issachar conspired against him, and Baasha struck and killed him at ^(B)Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines, while Nadab and all Israel were laying siege to Gibbethon.

²⁸So Baasha killed him in the third year of Asa king of Judah, and reigned in his place. ²⁹And as soon as he was king, he struck and killed all the household of Jeroboam. He did not leave Jeroboam any ^[a]persons alive, but kept killing until he had eliminated them, ^(C)in accordance with the word of the Lord which He spoke by His servant Ahijah the Shilonite, ³⁰and because of the sins of Jeroboam which he ^[b]committed, and into ^(D)which he misled Israel, because of his provocation with which he provoked the Lord God of Israel to anger.

³¹^(E)Now as for the rest of the acts of Nadab and all that he did, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?

²⁷Baasha son of Ahijah from the tribe of Issachar plotted against him, and he struck him down^(A) at Gibbethon,^(B) a Philistine town, while Nadab and all Israel were besieging it. ²⁸Baasha killed Nadab in the third year of Asa king of Judah and succeeded him as king.

²⁹As soon as he began to reign, he killed Jeroboam’s whole family.^(C) He did not leave Jeroboam anyone that breathed, but destroyed them all, according to the word of the Lord given through his servant Ahijah the Shilonite. ³⁰This happened because of the sins^(D) Jeroboam had committed and had caused^(E) Israel to commit, and because he aroused the anger of the Lord, the God of Israel.

³¹As for the other events of Nadab’s reign, and all he did, are they not written in the book of the annals^(F) of the kings of Israel?
