²¹ until a certain spirit came forward and stood before Adonai and said, ‘I will entice him.’ So Adonai asked him, ‘How?’

²² And he said: ‘I will go and be a deceiving spirit^[a] in the mouth of all his prophets.’ Then He said: ‘You shall entice him and shall prevail also—go and do so.’
