1 John 5:14-17
New American Standard Bible
14 This is (A)the confidence which we have [a]before Him, that, (B)if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. 15 And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, (C)we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him.
16 If anyone sees his brother or sister [b]committing a sin not leading to death, (D)he shall ask and [c]God will, for him, give life to those who commit sin not leading to death. (E)There is sin leading to death; (F)I am not saying that he should ask about that. 17 (G)All unrighteousness is sin, and (H)there is sin not leading to death.

14 And this is the boldness which we have toward him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he heareth us: 15 and if we know that he heareth us whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked of him. 16 If any man see his brother sinning a sin not unto death, [a]he shall ask, and God will give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is [b]a sin unto death: not concerning this do I say that he should make request. 17 All unrighteousness is sin: and there is [c]a sin not unto death.
